Welcome to the Bendemere Shire Council web site. 

The Bendemere Shire is rich in heritage and culture.  The shire’s history has links to Sir Thomas Mitchell’s exploration.  The area was first settled around 1850.  The Bendemere Shire Council was incorporated in 1911.  The last commercial Cobb & Co. coach service in Australia ran between Yuleba and Surat in 1924.
